Mass Choir

To the Worship Leaders of Modesto,

Come declare the Word of God over our city! “Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted” (Proverbs 11:11).

On Friday, September 18th 2009, there is going to be a city wide mass gathering of believers downtown with no other agenda but to see Jesus glorified in a massive way. This isn’t a time to promote individual churches, pastors, ministries or political agendas. It’s a time to promote the Kingdom of God.

As in the days of Nehemiah, when the great choir gathered to give thanks to God for the dedication of Jerusalem’s walls, we want to form a mass choir to praise and glorify our Savior in our city. We believe that as we lift Jesus up and call upon His name, the spiritual atmosphere of this valley is going to change and we will see a last day revival.

REHEARSAL TIMES & LOCATIONS:

  • 1st Mass Choir Rehearsal: Sat. August 15, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, location First Baptist Church.
  • 2nd Mass Choir Rehearsal: Sat. August 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., location Big Valley Grace.
  • 3rd Mass Choir Rehearsal: Sat. September 12, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at CTWC.

PARTICIPATION PACKETS
Each participant will be given a packet containing an information guide, a parts CD, bound sheet music, and a 40 Days of Praise devotional. At the final rehearsal, a t-shirt, to be worn at the event, will also be given out. The cost for these materials is $15.

40 DAYS OF PRAISE
Starting Monday, August 10th, choir participants will have the opportunity to join in a 40-day journey leading up to the big night. The journey includes: reading through the book of Psalms together, journaling things we’re praising God for, and praying for other choir members and the event itself.

Material for 40 Days of Praise will be found in each participation packet. The goal is to create a common bond between choir members from different churches, as well as bathe the entire event in prayer.
